Caf the Lodge works side by side with participants to prepare and transition for entry into competitive employment in the community. Caf the Lodge opened in 2011 and has since become a thriving business and a fixture in the Bethlehem community. RHD is currently offering a $1500 sign on bonus to all Full-Time new employees; this gets dispersed into two payments. First payment is paid after 90 days, Second payment is paid after 180 days. Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to help lead our kitchen and support the training program for individuals with mental health diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have a passion for both cooking and teaching, with the ability to foster a supportive and structured environment. This role is crucial in helping participants develop the skills necessary to succeed in any work setting. Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Training and Mentorship: Provide hands-on training and guidance to participants, teaching essential culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, sanitation, and kitchen safety. Skill Development: Focus on developing participants' soft skills, such as punctuality, accountability, teamwork, and time management. Supportive Environment: Create an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere that respects the unique challenges faced by individuals with mental health diagnoses. Collaboration: Work closely with program coordinators, mental health professionals, and other staff to tailor the training program to meet the specific needs of each participant. Location This is a site based position at Caf the Lodge, located at 427 E 4th St Bethlehem PA 18015 Essential Duties and Function Determine and engage in appropriate vocational interventions for consumers. Assists consumers in connecting with all available and appropriate federal, state and local vocational assistance support programs. Provides support and skills training in development and attainment of a participants' vocational goal. Train new and existing kitchen staff on the preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes Support and troubleshoot a point of sales system Respond to customer requests or concerns personally and professionally Manage catering orders from request to delivery Purchase and manage food stocks as necessary to ensure adequate inventory Teach, mentor and maintain confidentiality of all vocational staff Cleaning of the kitchen and stock area to maintain health and safety standards Administrative Develop and implement person centered skill plans in collaboration with team and consumers Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 4 years restaurant/kitchen experience Sensitivity to individuals with disabilities Positive affect and patience Strong problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with consumers and other staff Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team. Valid Driver's license required Requirements Physical requirements Lifting Requirements Medium: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
