Hendrick Motorsports Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262 Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Chassis and Pre-body Fabricator. The successful candidate in this role will assemble chassis as ordered to specification by the race shops via the build sheet. The candidate should be able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines within a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate should have the ability to provide ongoing support to internal customers to ensure timely delivery of fabricated components. The successful individual must be able to communicate well and work closely with team peers. The position requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: May assemble track bars, mid-engine mounts and sway bars ordered from race shops. May assemble brake pedal beams as requested by chassis plate fabricators as needed. Proficient in the use of micrometers, scales, squares, height gauge, calipers, measuring tape, faro arm, and rockwell hardness tester. Responsible for designing and reworking fixtures and jigs to aid in quality repeatability and designing patterns to aid in product manufacturability, organization skills to create, maintain and label patterns, fixtures, and jigs to aid in cross training and allowing for inter-departmental assistance. Responsible for managing parts inventory for lead times, anticipating delays, race schedules, multiple priorities, and customer's special needs. Must be capable of fabricating chasses and related parts with little direction and guidance. Assists with evaluation of used parts disposition and prioritization of build schedule. Reliability - demonstrate being dependable and trustworthy. Repairing - repairing items using needed tools and equipment. Troubleshooting - determining the causes of operating errors and deciding the action to take. Safety Awareness - ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Experience: 5 plus years of experience Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required to perform and record faro arm measurements. Certifications & Licenses: Excellent MIG and TIG welding skills required Other Requirements: Strong communication skills. Knowledge of all basic tools and equipment including band saw, drill press, sand blaster, rotex punch, cold saw, acetylene torch, and hydraulic punch. Must possess an excellent sense of customer satisfaction, communicating with race shops and filling orders as timely and precisely as possible. Exceptional MIG and TIG welding skills.
