Staff Engineer

Help the team scale the product while ensuring stability and high availability. Help the team with technical challenges and successful completion of tasks. Help organize the team, planning sprints, delegating tasks, and organizing goals, while maintaining a high team velocity as the team increases in size. Competencies Be a top performing and passionate engineer looking to do great work. Experience building and designing high scale and high availability systems, including a deep understanding of infrastructure, databases, and common backend patterns. Excellent technical, architectural (system design), diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills. Have a great taste in software and API design, with great instincts for what great looks like. Be a clear communicator that is great to work with. Have strong leadership and organizational abilities. Be obsessed with shipping and high engineering velocity, while maintaining high stability. Having previously worked as a staff engineer, tech lead, or a similar role. Experience with the technologies we use in the backend and infrastructure such as: Rust, Postgres, Redis, and Terraform. Bonus: Rust experience (if lacking, an ability to quickly ramp up is required) Frontend experience Compensation Base Salary Range: $190,000 - $210,000* *These figures represent the range for candidates based in NYC, where we are headquartered. Salary will differ based on geographic location and is also based on skills, experience, etc. Equity: We offer generous equity packages at Svix. As an owner, our success is your success.
