Overview: Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a motivated transportation design engineer to join our growing team that has a large backlog full of exciting design and traffic operations projects on some of the most iconic transportation facilities in the country. The selected candidate will have the ability to work on an array of transportation design projects, of varying size and complexity. Position offers unique ability to work collaboratively in a dynamically changing landscape with internal stakeholders and external clients creating an invigorating career opportunity. Youll apply engineering fundamentals in technical support of project design teams to gain a wide range of experience in highways, roadways, railways, traffic signal design, pedestrian and bicycle facilities (including accessible curb ramps), pavement markings, signing, safety improvements, maintenance and protection of traffic, guide rail and barrier design. Responsibilities: Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques and principles, with the guidance of senior staff, to develop designs, reports, presentation materials, and other elements necessary for project success Research design options and apply code provisions/standards Work with senior engineers and planners, often involving multiple disciplines, to create designs that meet or exceed client needs Perform engineering calculations and create cost estimates Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and colleagues Meet schedule, budget, and quality goals set by project managers Work toward fluency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads and create plans, CADD models, etc. Field work conducted in collaboration with senior and project engineers Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred but not required 0-3 years of experience with interest in transportation/highway/traffic design Previous internship experience and/or capstone project work pertaining to highway/traffic/railroad engineering preferred Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products Some experience working with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and other software packages is preferred Previous experience with Traffic analysis software is a plus Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD and other transportation publications Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Effective time management and organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task Thrive in a team setting and have a great attitude, strong work ethic, an attention to detail and exhibit an eagerness to learn Valid drivers license What We Offer: At Colliers Engineering & Design, our people are our most important resource.
