An employer in the logistics industry is seeking a full time Air Export Agent to join the team and work onsite in NY or NJ. This person will be responsible for providing clients with efficient, reliable and cost-effective air freight solutions. They will coordinate with shippers, carriers and other logistics providers to ensure smooth and timely export of air cargo shipments from origin to destination. It is crucial for this person to develop and maintain relationships with key clients and key suppliers. On a day to day basis they will respond to external and internal client inquiries, prepare documents necessary to complete export, import and customs clearance process, and communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates. They are responsible for seeking the most profitable mode of shipment, yet meet clients requirement for the movement of freight to close a deal. This person should consult customers on ways to reduce costs and maximize profitability. Required Skills & Experience 2+ years experience working in air freight international export Experience coordinating and managing all aspects of air export shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines i.e. ICS2, TSA, AES Experience developing and maintaining strong customer relationships Experience booking cargo space with airlines, negotiating rates, and arranging for transportation to the airport Experience collaborating with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance processes Must be career-oriented, hard-working, a quick learner and have excellent recall for past events/situations/numbers The ability to work in a fast paced environment and strong sense of urgency Ability to create and maintain strong customer relationships Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience shipping Hazardous Materials Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
