SUMMARY: Layouts, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Layout and fabricate various piping systems. Pre-plan and schedule work processes. Select type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications. Cut pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine. Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic. Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders, using hand tools. Assists other team members with job duties as necessary. Competent with various welding/piping techniques. Supervise and lead others. Travel to customer locations. Flexibility to work weekends and/or evenings as necessary TEAMWORK: Demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively Improve personal performance on a continual basis CUSTOMER SERVICE: Provide responsive, professional and diplomatic customer service Answer customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships Immediately address any customers concern and requests the involvement of other Company personnel as required SAFETY: Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to Retrofit Superintendent Notify Retrofit Superintendent or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions Proper PPE equipment must be used at all times when necessary Report all accidents and injuries to your Team Leader and HR immediately All monthly training topics on safety completed and done during the month due SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises field employees in the retrofit department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an i dividual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5+ years related experience and/or training. Two years of trade school in pipe fitting or equivalent training is preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license LANGUAGE SKILLS: Has the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos and has the ability to write basic correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic math functions including addition and subtraction. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Has the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
