As the Property and Liability Insurance Specialist within Hamilton County's Risk Management team, you will assist the Risk Manager in the administration of the County's property and liability insurance programs. This includes processing insurance claims, collaborating with the Risk Manager, legal counsel, brokers, and vendors to ensure the County's assets are adequately protected. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate insurance records, reviewing contracts to ensure compliance, and providing expert guidance to County departments on insurance-related matters. Summary of Job Duties: Receives, reviews and processes liability and property claims. Coordinates with Risk Manager and insurance brokers for submission of claims and purchase or renewal of insurance policies. Notifies brokers of changes in property or equipment affecting insurance coverage. Assists in articulating and communicating insurance terms and agreements, and supports negotiations with insurance providers to secure favorable terms that align with the County's risk management objectives. Reviews received Certificates of Insurance (COI) and enters information in an electronic data management resource. Reviews bid documents and agreements between the County and awarded and prospective vendors to ensure County insurance requirements and conditions are met. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field. Two (2) years human resource/personnel experience in insurance administration, risk management or related field. or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Valid driver's license in the state of residency.
