Will you join us?Job SummaryThe Medical Assistant is a vital member of the Office of Talent at the School District, responsible for both clinical and administrative functions that support new hires to ensure a smooth transition from new hire to employee. This role involves assisting with new hire examinations, taking vital signs, and preparing new hires for procedures. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, managing new hire and employee records, processing insurance claims, and handling new hire and employee inquiries.Essential FunctionsAssists professional health personnel in performing physical tests.Welcomes and directs Employee Health Services' visitors.Assures that examination rooms are orderlyPrepares employees for examination; measures height, weight, pulse and blood pressure.Prepares necessary reportsPerforms a variety of administrative tasks necessary for Employee Health Services' operation.Performs related work as requiredMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Medical Assistant Certification.AlcoPro Certified Urine Specimen Collector within ninety days of appointment and during tenure of appointment.AlcoPro Certified Breath Alcohol Technician within ninety days of appointment and during tenure of appointment.NOTE: An applicant who does not meet the minimum education or work experience requirements listed above may be considered if, at the sole discretion of the Talent Office, they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicates potential for success in this role.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of:basic principles of health and hygiene.basic first aid.spreadsheet software applications.Ability to:communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.establish and maintain effective working relationships.DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
