A growing mid-sized law firm located downtown Chicago is seeking to hire a dynamic and detail-oriented Intellectual Property (IP) Legal Assistant for their collaborative team. The ideal candidate will be support the intellectual property practice by assisting with the management and prosecution of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.Some responsibilities will include:Assist in filing and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents, trademarks, and copyrights.Preparing and filing legal documents with the USPTO.Manage attorney dockets and handle deadline entry and reminders.Performing intake of new IP matters including patents, trademarks, and copyright registrations.Create and maintain IP case files, update databases and status dockets.Assist with IP licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements in collaboration with the legal team.Research and gather pertinent information pertaining to legal and technical problems.Assist in any additional tasks as allocated by the Legal team.Qualifications:At least 3 years of relevant work experience as an IP Legal Assistant.Familiarity with USPTO procedures and guidelines.Strong knowledge of patent, trademark, and copyright application processes.Proficient in MS Office Suite and IP management software.Excellent organizational, communication and multitasking abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines.Understanding of confidentiality obligations and legal framework.Prior experience with researching and retrieving legal documents is a plus.The law firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
