The Data Insights & Reporting Analyst will conduct data analyses focused on Risk Accuracy supporting the Government Markets (Medicare Advantage, US Individual and Small Group). This role provides actionable data insights to internal stakeholders and reports to the Risk Adjustment Analytics Manager. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducts data analysis for a variety of analytic solutions. Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements. Create and produce reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. Interprets data, analyzes results, and provides insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. Must be able to apply critical thinking and analysis to the data and reports that are collected. Collaboratively work to solve complex problems. Track Key Performance Indicators and have the ability to understand why metrics are performing the way they are. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Math, Business, Biology, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or equivalent experience. 3 years of related professional work experience. Intermediate level knowledge of SQL. Intermediate level knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project. Demonstrated strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. High level of intellectual curiosity. Enjoys digging in on key questions and finding new ones to answer. Generates immense self-fulfillment from drawing key insights from data. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in documented formats. Able to creatively present data insights in a comprehensive, concise, logical, and easily digested format. Preferred: Master's degree in related field 5 years of experience within the health care industry Knowledge of claims-based analytics Experience with statistical or programming software (SAS, Python, or R) Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Independence has implemented a "Hybrid" model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the "Hybrid" model.
