Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas CountiesEssential Functions (include, but are not limited to): Develops and sustains community partnership. Identifies high risk populations and tailor interventions based of the population and resources available.Provides treatments, administers medications/vaccines and provides preventative and maintenance care to patients/families consistent with care plan and/or physician treatment plan.Screens and refers clients to other community service providers. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Nursing from accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND one year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certificationPreferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Professional experience in public health nursing. Experience in the specialized area of assignment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Some public health and infectious disease experience helpful. Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.Work Conditions & Physical Demands This position does not require a lot of physical exertion. May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs. Not always a sedentary position; will require some walking to/from and in/out chair. It does require flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary and some outreach. Confidentiality and precise data entry is a must.
