Job Title: HR Specialist - Recruiting Focus Location: Baltimore, MarylandIndustry: EngineeringDefensePay: $30-$40hr (Contract-to-hire, potential for conversion at $80-$90K annually)About Our Client: Our client is an innovative player in the engineering and defense sectors, known for driving impactful projects and fostering a dynamic work environment where employees actively contribute to the company's mission.Role Overview: This is a fantastic growth opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to shape and develop HR processes, with potential to progress to HR Manager and eventually lead HR functions. The initial focus will be on recruiting technical and cleared roles, expanding to HR administration, policy work, and systems management.Key Responsibilities:Talent Acquisition: Drive full-cycle recruiting for technical positions, manage applicant status in ATS, and provide a positive candidate experience.Benefits and Enrollment: Support health and welfare plans, manage employee enrollments and terminations, and process payroll pliance and Documentation: Maintain records, conduct background checks, and ensure documentation accuracy for I-9s and other HR records.Performance Support: Assist in the performance review process, address employee queries, and maintain positive employee relations.Administrative Support: Organize HR-related meetings, oversee clerical tasks, and manage various administrative needs as they arise.Qualifications:5-10 years of recruiting experience, ideally in engineering or government contracting.Strong ATS knowledge and ability to navigate HR technology efficiently.Flexible and growth-oriented mindset, with a "no task too small" and "can-do" attitude.Capable of balancing new initiatives with respect for the existing company culture.Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted).Additional Information:Initial in-office role, with potential for future hybrid flexibility.Background check required (no active clearance necessary).Position reports directly to company leadership.
