The Role:We have an immediate need for a CAD Drafter with a genuine passion for excellence and a desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company.This role will support our large-scale new product development projects. They will be responsible for creating 3D models and assemblies of parts and creating drawings per the appropriate standards. This candidate will be a vital participant in all design meetings and will lead the management of our SolidWorks PDM library.Job Responsibilities:Create 3D models of assemblies and partsCreate the following types of drawings:Construction drawings for Mechanical, ElectricalSteel frame sheet metal and weldmentsWire harness schematics and assembly drawings specifically using SolidWorks ElectricalVarious fastening mechanismsDetails of machined partsOff-the-shelf mechanical and electrical components and vendor-controlled drawingsTop Level and sub-assembly drawings optimized to match the MFG processCreate 2D drawings following ASME standards and GD&T standardsSelection of component parts and materials to be used in the above drawing types and creating Bills of Materials for procurementCreate and manage assembly drawing tree structures to align and support integration into the company ERP systemSupport all sustaining DFM changes request from MFG engineering and productionInteract with project, mechanical, and structural engineers in the creation of designs as well as with manufacturing vendors regarding design issuesCreate and process engineering changes and support the implementation of ECOs in accordance with the organization's change management proceduresActively participate in design reviews and meetingsQualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar positionCollege andor CAD Technical school degree preferredAS or Certificate in Solidworks or related fieldExperience in: SolidWorks 2D3D modeling, SolidWorks PDM and experience managing large complex assembly dataSolidWorks Electrical experience a big plus.Experience working in an assembly MFG environmentHighly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.Must have knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern design and operating requirements.Working knowledge of scheduling software, Microsoft OfficeSalary:$65-75K, based on qualifications and experience
