THE ORGANIZATION Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is a non-profit agency under contract to the State of California and for 50 years has provided the coordination of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. ACRC employs approximately 750+ persons working out of eight offices in a ten-county area. ACRC is one of 21 Regional Centers in California. THE POSITION AND JOB SUMMARY Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is seeking an IT Support Technician in the Information Technology Department at the Sacramento office ( please note our Sacramento office location will be moving to Natomas in March 2025 ). The IT Support Technician position provides support for the Regional Center information technology operations to include, but not limited to, installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, software applications, e-mail, computer systems, telecommunication systems, video systems, and network operations. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems and issues; assisting with support of LAN/WAN; providing courteous and effective Help Desk support to end-users; assisting with training of others; this position may travel to branch offices to perform some responsibilities. The IT Support Technician position will have access to computer files, applications, and information systems, including those containing highly sensitive and/or confidential information and, as such, is responsible for confidentiality and security of such data and systems. This is intended to represent a general summary of benefit plans and coverages only. COMPENSATION The below is dependent upon experience. IT Support Technician I: $20.91/hr - $25.42/hr. (must possess 1 year of professional experience in a large organization) IT Support Technician II: $25.85/hr - $31.41/hr. (must possess 2 years of professional experience in a large organization) Requirements Applicants must possess an Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field OR one year of college or technical school (minimum of 30 units) plus one year of paid related experience is required. Experience may be in the form of an internship or work experience program. Additionally, working in customer support or related experience will be considered as well. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge in the following areas: personal computer systems, printers, monitors, various programs/applications, Microsoft products and operating systems, database applications and word processing programs, general knowledge of spreadsheets, standard computer Help Desk techniques and methods, Microsoft Terminal Services, Active Directory, Sophos, Web programming and Ghost. The ideal candidate will also have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, organization and time management skills, and the ability to work creatively, logically, and effectively within a group or independently.
