The Hermitage Club, a Private 501.c7 Social Club and Ski Area is currently seeking Part-Time Childcare Teachers to work in our Licensed Childcare Center during the Winter Season. The Hermitage Club Childcare is a state licensed non-recurring Childcare Facility that operates weekends and Holiday periods December through April. The Hermitage Club prides itself in having a well-equipped high quality Childcare Center for its Members and Guests. Job Summary of Essential Functions The Childcare Lead Teacher is a part-time position that will oversee daily classroom operations and provide direct supervision of children and assistant staff, as well as implement program curriculum and activities. Job Tasks/Duties: Responsible for the implementation of the program curriculum for winter seasonal programs Carries out classroom procedures including opening/closing responsibilities, record keeping on Brightwheel, indoor and outdoor activities, overseeing toileting, eating, & sleeping, classroom cleaning and sanitation, and positive guidance as per state regulations for a CBCCPP facility. Supervise teacher assistants and teaching aides. Facilitates and supervises developmentally appropriate activities, centers, and free play. Oversees parent communication at the start and close of each day about their child's routine, meals, toileting, napping, activities, and development. May also assist or oversee digital communication including emails, website, and newsletters. Responsible for providing a safe learning environment for all children in the group and communicating any hazards or problems to the director. Requirements : Minimum Age: 20 as required by Vermont Childcare Licensing Standards. Required to submit a record check authorization form prior to working with children. Required to submit to fingerprinting prior to being left alone with children. Required to have a current pediatric first aid and infant and child CPR certification or obtain the certification within 4 weeks of hire. Complete a minimum of 8 hours of professional development activities annually. Minimum Education Requirements : At least an associate degree with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; OR At least successful completion of twenty-one (21) college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; OR A Childcare Certificate from the Community College of Vermont and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; OR A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Childcare Apprenticeship Program; OR A Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate or greater. Shift Expectations: Must be available Weekends and Holiday Periods December through April. Must be available a minimum of 15 days per season. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. Frequently. Must be able to remain calm in stressful, one-on-one situations with upset children. Must be able to move frequently and for extended periods of time within the classroom, while working at a variety of heights, including but not limited to at the child's eye level. Must be able to work outdoors in a winter environment daily. Salary Range: $22-26 per hour based on experience and education.
