Materials Engineer

Description Job Description : The Materials Engineer will develop a deeper and more predictive understanding of aerogel composite materials' mechanical and thermal behavior. Provide deep technical expertise to the global markets for battery electric vehicles (BEV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Build and maintain a material properties and tools database to inform engineering and design decisions. Quantify the effects of influencing factors, such as temperature, age, and manufacturing variability. Develop and execute experimental protocols using in-house and external test resources. Mine and synthesize experimental data and communicate insights to the broader team. Provide presentations for customers for a greater understanding of opportunities or material fixes. Telecommuting is allowed two days per week. Travel required up to 15% of the time, to both domestic and international destinations. Job Requirements : Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Material Science, Material Engineering, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience as an Engineer with non-linear materials. Said experience must include: Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Developing and validating material-level models through physical testing.
