Job Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst position will be primarily responsible for conducting clinical and non-clinical data analytics and producing reports and dashboards (both through Microsoft Excel and PowerBI) to support business decisions system-wide. The Business Intelligence Analyst will collect data through utilization of enterprise data systems (Epic Slicer Dicer, Caboodle & Clarity, SAP/Crystal, etc.) and perform analytics to support the development of optimal solutions for business problems by bringing new insights. Provide accurate & timely communication of status. Effectively balance multiple concurrent project assignments. Mentor junior members of the team related to specific technical skills as well as troubleshooting skills, departmental processes and general professionalism. Mentor junior members of the team related to specific technical skills as well as troubleshooting skills, departmental processes and general professionalism. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Analytics Implementation a. Collaborate with teams across the organization to provide analysis. b. Conduct data-driven communication between operating units and functions. c. Gather, prepare, and analyze user requirements to create complex reports and simple to moderate dashboards, utilizing enterprise data systems (such as Epic Slicer Dicer, Caboodle & Clarity, SAP/Crystal, Business Objects, etc.). d. Analyze St. Elizabeth's position in the competitive environment, developments, trends, demographics, strategic options, and product line definitions, especially regarding clinical effectiveness. e. Comply with the standards, policies, procedures and processes for the creation, consumption and reporting of clinical data, including service level agreements. f. Test designs and analytical methods and make recommendations for their utilization. g. Provide troubleshooting support and maintain up-to-date end-user clinical analytics applications. h. Develop system level standard scorecards and reports, integrating clinical, operational, and financial information (including third party data). i. Identify high-performing areas / opportunities for improvement based on performance data. j. Perform data analyses assess market position, developments, trends clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, financial health/performance, demographics, and other requests. k. Monitor system clinical effectiveness strategies and metrics. l. Provide end user training as required for new hires or when changes are made to existing applications/systems. 2. Data Collection and Analytics a. Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data, forecasting and trends that affect the healthcare field and the organization. b. Using input from clinical system and region leaders, track performance, using defined metrics. c. Collect, organize, and present performance information and assist leadership with interpretation and support to identify, evaluate, develop, implement, and monitor post-implementation results if performance improvement efforts. d. Build (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual) clinical forecast and trend reports regarding St. Elizabeth and the healthcare industry. e. Develop ad-hoc reports and analyses for SEP offices and administrative leaders and key business partners. f. Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal and external parties on assigned tasks and related issues. g. Effectively work with cross functional teams and customers to identify build deficiencies based on customer reporting requests. h. Works with business and / or clinical units to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. i. Analyze Business Intelligence requests to align with existing tools and processes, as well as develop new processes and investigate new tools where appropriate. Report Development / Compliance Generate standard data/analytics reports, in collaboration with Analytics Team. Aid in the management of the reporting queue, ensure that requests are complete and non-duplicative Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required / available data elements. Perform change management when reporting system modifications are needed. Measure System-wide compliance with data/analytics expectation. Deliver on goals and targets. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: 1. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture. 2. Demonstrated ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance. 3. Experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events. 4. Must respond and follow through to requests from customers promptly. 5. Must work carefully and precisely with attention to detail. 6. Must utilize resources wisely. 7. Performs duties willingly and with initiative. Shares necessary information so co-workers can do the same. 8. Cooperates with other departments and work groups. 9. EDUCATION: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, Evaluative Clinical Sciences, Health Care Management, or other related area of health care focus. Desired: Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Statistics, Data Analysis, Evaluative Clinical Sciences, Health Care Management, or other related area of health care focus. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Data/Analytics. Experience with statistical process control, severity adjustment and benchmarking software, Microsoft PowerBI, advanced Microsoft Excel functions, and Microsoft Power Automate.
