Mainframe Development Strategy Specialist-Peoria, IL(Onsite) Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Development Strategy Specialist to support our development strategy projects. In this role, you will contribute to the enhancement of existing mainframe programs, develop custom programs for data modifications, and ensure compliance with FSA/SOX regulations. You will collaborate with various teams to document findings and improvements while leveraging your technical expertise to drive project success. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. Responsibilities: Research and document existing mainframe programs, including creating flow charts to illustrate processes and system interactions. Enhance and optimize existing mainframe programs to improve performance and functionality. Develop custom one-time-use programs for specific data modifications as needed. Maintain thorough documentation of changes and modifications to ensure FSA/SOX compliance. Work closely with end-customers to gather IT requirements, perform testing, and address any issues. Technical Skills Required: 2 years of experience with the Client's mainframe environment, preferably GIS Cluster C/A, with expertise in COBOL development. 3 years of SQL/DB2 programming experience on the mainframe. 3 years of IMS or CICS development experience. 2 years of experience with debugging tools such as Xpeditor and Abend-Aid. 2 years of experience working directly with end-customers on IT requirements and testing. Desired Skills: Experience with FSA/SOX controls and compliance requirements. Soft Skills Required: Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly in English. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Education & Experience Requirements: Required: Programming certificate or associate degree in Computer Science or a related field. If no degree, a minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. If a Master's degree is held, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.
