This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Essential Functions Under general direction, serves a Data Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP), performing difficult and specialized professional work in the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of ad hoc, self-service, and interactive reports and visualization. Designs and develops effective solutions to meet analytical needs. Interprets data and analyzes results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Serves as a resource for users seeking assistance with reporting portals and dashboards. Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields. Requires one (1) of professional experience in applications services or a related Information Technology field. Specialized Skills Requires one (1) year of professional experience with data analytics, business intelligence tool sets, and reporting packages such as Tableau, Power BI or comparable packages. Requires one (1) year of professional experience with relational databases, business objects, ETL frameworks, SQL Server, or Oracle DBMS. Requires one (1) year of professional experience interpreting data, communicating findings, and making solution recommendations. Requires one (1) year of professional experience supporting end users with reporting portals and dashboards including using troubleshooting tools and procedures.
