Senior Tax Accountant

Job Description: A well-established Accounting & Tax Firm based in North Brunswick, NJ is looking for an experienced, full-time Senior Tax Accountant at our office. The right candidate has a huge potential for professional growth and partnership opportunities in the company. Finalization of client's financial statements and working with them to resolve any accounting-related issues. Review and finalization of Individual, Trust, Corporate, and Partnership tax returns Experience in multi-state and International taxation is required. Company registration, sales tax, and working with tax authorities to resolve customer issues. Payroll processing as may be required Qualifications: Minimum 4-5 years of Accounting & Tax experience with an Accounting firm Experience in interacting with Indian and South Asian clients would be required Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks desktop, Intuit Pro Series Tax, and Excel is required. Solid work ethic and must be able to communicate in spoken and written English effectively Candidate with an accounting degree, CPA, EA, or Chartered Accountant is strongly preferred Must be able to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment You must not just enjoy but love interacting with clients and team members Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if necessary during tax season. In depth knowledge of 1040s including all schedules. Knowledge of 1099 for 1256 Contracts. Knowledge of 1031 exchange tax rules and calculation. Overseas income including deep understanding of rental income, sale of properties, capital gains from sale of stocks, interest and dividends Should have worked on Amended tax returns. Should have experience in responding to IRS/state notices Why work for us?
