SUMMARY OF POSITION We are looking for experienced Wood Framing Carpenters and Foremen to join our expanding Building Division in York, PA. Carpenters will be responsible for constructing, erecting, and repairing wooden frameworks and structures for commercial buildings, as well as hanging doors, installing hardware. Foremen will lead and manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, and interpret blueprints and project plans. Ideal candidates should have prior experience with wood framing, acoustical ceilings, drywall installation and finishing, and commercial wood trim work. Leadership experience is required for those applying for the Foreman position. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Wood Framing Carpenter Use various hand and power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, sanders, tape measures, squares, levels, etc. Frame wood stud walls and set wood trusses. Install floor and roof sheathing Hang door and install windows. Install vapor barriers [Tyvek]. Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures. Check completed work to insure that is it level, plumb and square. Comprehend and follow blueprints and specifications to meet needs of the project. Work on multiple commercial projects with varying scopes while delivering quality craftsmanship. Preforms other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Wood Framing Foreman Effectively lead, manage and motivate crews of 5 to 10 individuals. Successfully manage and schedule subcontractors. Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications. Plan and schedule for necessary manpower, tools, materials and equipment needed to complete the job. Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs. Perform other related duties to ensure the project gets completed. REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 3 years of experience in finishing concrete is required. Must be able to operate rider trowels is required. Previous experience with carpentry and/or concrete work. Capacity to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Physical fitness for tasks involving climbing, lifting, balancing, and handling materials. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Possession of reliable transportation for reaching assigned job sites. Skill in using a variety of hand and power tools. Capability to work in unfavorable weather conditions for extended periods. Aptitude for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
