The Fire Sprinkler Install Apprentice will learn and develop the skills necessary to install, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems. The apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced Fire Sprinkler Installation Technicians. The Fire Sprinkler Install Apprentice will assist the Fire Sprinkler Install Technicians in the accurate and efficient installation of fire sprinkler systems, following blueprints and specifications. They will need to progress steadily through all aspects of the apprenticeship training program. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Learn and apply proper techniques to cut, thread, and fit pipes, ensuring precise alignment and secure connections for the fire sprinkler system. Acquire knowledge of fire sprinkler system components, codes, regulations, and safety procedures. Conduct routine inspections and tests on fire sprinkler systems to identify any issues or malfunctions and promptly report findings to the onsite supervisor. Collaborate with experienced team members to troubleshoot and repair fire sprinkler system components, such as valves, pipes, and fittings, ensuring optimal functionality. Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installation details, repairs, inspections, and tests, to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate future maintenance. Work closely with the installation team to ensure timely completion of projects, providing support and assistance as required. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries during installation, maintenance, and repair activities. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and changes in fire sprinkler system technology and regulations to enhance knowledge and skills. Demonstrate a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, Coworkers, Subcontractors, and Customers Addressing customer concerns and providing assistance as required. Education/Qualification: High school diploma or equivalent. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in working with hand and power tools. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Comfortable working with a computer. Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in the field of fire sprinkler system installation. Other Duties: Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and maneuver self around construction job sites and climb ladders occasionally. Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy pipe daily (10-40 lbs frequently and 50-75 lbs occasionally). Bending and squatting frequently and for long periods of time. Reaching and performing work above shoulder level frequently and for long periods of time. Ability to withstand occasional exposure to hot, cold, and/or inclement weather on job sites. Ability to wear PPE such as steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glass, safety harnesses, and hard hats occasionally on job sites.
