Design and develop power conversion electronics for electric vehicle applications (component selection, schematic design, and layout design) Design and develop mixed signal circuits (analog-digital) for power electronics applications (component selection, schematic design, and layout design) Perform complex circuit analysis, magnetics analysis, thermal analysis, and control analysis Perform design failure analysis and support functional safety activities Hands-on hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and failure analysis Support testing team with development of validation test plans and end-of-line test specifications Collaborate with software engineers, mechanical engineers, project management and supply chain within organization meet project deadlines 8+ years of experience with power electronics design (component selection, schematic design, and layout design) In depth knowledge of power electronics fundamentals and hardware development of power converters In depth knowledge of layout practices for signal integrity, testability, and manufacturability In depth knowledge of magnetics design for power electronics converters Adequate knowledge of circuit simulation software (Simulink, LTSPICE, PLECS etc.) Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, impedance analyzer, etc.), hardware bring-up and hardware troubleshooting BS, MS, or PhD degree in electronics engineering Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-frequency electromagnetics FEA simulation Experience with safety-critical automotive hardware development Familiarity with DFMEA Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for power electronics products What you'll receive in return: As part of the Ford family, you'll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation and much more.
