Job Title: Field Service EngineerJob Description The Field Service Engineer will assist the Engineering team in testing, troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning machines for our customers. Responsibilities include traveling to customer sites, troubleshooting primarily Allen-Bradley (and some Siemens) PLCs and drives, and installing and commissioning automation machinery in mills. There is no requirement to program from scratch, but training will be provided to enhance proficiency. The role primarily involves motors/drives experience (75%) and 25% PLC experience. Hard Skills Familiarity with PLCs Experience with Motors and Drives Ability to read Electrical Schematics Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s). Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Willoughby, Ohio and some days remote. Work Environment The role requires around 75% travel, potentially up to a month at a time, followed by a few weeks off. The largest concentration of customers is on the eastern end of the U.S., including locations like Pittsburgh, Indiana, Cleveland, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, and Texas. It is extremely rare to work outside of the U.S. There is an option to use a company vehicle, but typically employees use their own vehicle and are reimbursed $0.56/mile. The position is eligible for a per diem of $55/day. This role cannot be performed remotely and requires the employee to be in Cleveland when not traveling.
