The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:Job Description:The Undersea Sensors & Structures (USS) Department leads the mechanical design, development, and integration of a diverse set of products within the Mechanical Engineering Discipline (ME). This includes undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard/ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers.The Section Leader will report to the USS Department Leader and is responsible for the success of the Section's people and performance in accordance with RTX's Leadership Behaviors Model. The priority of the Section Leader is to ensure that the Section delivers results by providing appropriate resources and support for all programs and initiatives led and/or supported by the Section. The Section Leader is responsible for the on-time and accurate delivery of the work products prepared by all section personnel. The Section Leader is also responsible for execution of Performance Impact throughout the year, implementing a career development program for the section members, salary planning, and for continuing leadership of and/or support to ME initiatives. This position is on-site in Marlboro, Massachusetts.The section's charter includes a focus on, but not limited to, electronic cabinet design, including items such as electronic packaging, CCA module and assembly level design, shock isolation, and component level detail design and documentation for a variety shipboard, ground based, and ground mobile radar systems. Section personnel lead and/or support programs throughout the product life cycle including advanced concepts, proposals, preliminary design, detailed design, production support, and field deployment. The Section Leader should be familiar with these roles and responsibilities to be able to facilitate section performance. The Section Leader, in addition to their management responsibilities, will either be assigned program lead tasking or proposal work in the aforementioned areas.The Section Leader is also responsible for contributing to the performance of ME through program performance, customer relationships and product solutions. The position requires broad based technical knowledge, the ability to lead and review engineering designs and analyses. The ability to lead engineering investigations and direct troubleshooting is essential. Demonstrated experience as a hardware task lead throughout development, detailed design, product documentation, procurement support, production support, and test support processes is highly desired.Qualifications You Must Have:•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree •8+ years Mechanical Engineering experience•Existing Secret Clearance•Broad based mechanical engineering experience spanning design, production, and support phases of DoD programs, with demonstrated experience in the design and production of electronics packaging•Experience executing and reviewing design team products, leading with cost and schedule responsibility•Experience with technical and cost proposal development as ME Proposal Lead•Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, associated product data management tools, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance analysis•Excellent communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills•Knowledge of our earned value management system (EVMS), and including basic management reports such as: EACs, HW Tracking Books, proposal reviews and Standard Bidding Tool (SBT)Qualifications We Value:•Existing Top-Secret Clearance•Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering•Experience executing Mechanical Engineering tasking across a diverse set of products•Demonstrated program leadership roles (IPT Lead / Hardware Lead)•Direct experience preparing/leading basic management reports including EACs, department and directorate reviews and SBT files•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project)What We Offer:Whether you're just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
