Asst/Assoc/Prof of Clinical Psychiatry Search extended until 1/22/2025 Hiring Department : UICOMP-Psychiatry Location : Peoria, IL USA Requisition ID : Posting Close Date : 1/22/2025 The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at theUniversity of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is recruiting for full-timefaculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join ourcollegial and growing department. The PsychiatryResidency Program Director position is available to applicants withadministrative and teaching experience and the desire for advancement. Competitivesalary and benefits are commensurate with rank. Responsibilities include leading an interdisciplinarygeneral psychiatry adult inpatient teaching unit composed of residents, medicalstudents, nurses, case managers, and support staff. The Program Directorposition includes accountability for the operation for the training program,promoting a culture of excellence, resident recruitment, innovation inteaching, and resident evaluation. Other duties will be tailored to theinterest of the applicant and include opportunities in adult and childoutpatient, ECT, TMS, community outreach, college student mental health, and forensicpsychiatry. Educational responsibilities include clinical and classroomteaching of residents and medical students. Faculty members are grantedprotected time to pursue other interests including program or curricular developmentand research. The department values and supports the growth, development, andadvancement of its faculty members. Minimum requirements include graduated or will graduate froman ACGME-approved psychiatry residency training program, board certification orboard eligibility in general psychiatry and eligibility for an unrestrictedIllinois medical license. Position Summary Responsibilities include leading an interdisciplinary general psychiatry adult inpatient teaching unit composed of residents, medical students, nursing, social work, and support staff. Other duties include opportunities in adult and child outpatient, partial hospitalization, ECT, TMS, community outreach, college student mental health, psychiatry integration in primary care clinics, and forensic psychiatry. Educational responsibilities include clinical and classroom teaching of residents and medical students. Duties & Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities include the following: Direct patient care on inpatient units at our University-affiliated hospital Direct patient care in our departmental outpatient clinic Supervision and teaching of psychiatry residents and medical students Function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as are appropriate to academic rank and position. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduated or will graduate from an ACGME-approved psychiatry residency training program Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Illinois ABPN board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry Preferred Qualifications Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry Experience in working collaboratively as a part of an interdisciplinary team Interest in providing high-quality education Interest in supporting resident scholarship Peoria and Central Illinois present an attractive mix ofsmall-town charm and big city offerings.
