SMG seeks a local Construction Coordinator - Construction in Georgetown, KY. Responsible for managing general contractors and subcontractors, testing agencies, budgets, and schedules for specific buildings to support and coordinate the overall completion of the plant construction project. Administer construction contracts; conduct on-site inspections to monitor plan compliance. Direct activities of contractors and subcontractors to support project schedules in compliance with plans and specifications. Research, plan, and administer building projects, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, and building materials. Present status reports to the owner. Receive, review, and coordinate contract changes into project delivery. Be intimately and completely knowledgeable of current and future activities in area(s) of responsibility and be able to implement countermeasures to support the project schedule. Overview of Job Responsibilities Implement building construction projects to support the site Coordinates construction scheduling and communication Manage daily construction and RFI support for construction projects Coordinate communications between owner, contractor, and firm May be responsible for estimates, schedules, materials, and purchase orders Supervises construction activity in the field Coordinate weekend/shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities, and shops Work with vendors and contractors to coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and scheduling Develop project status reports for management review Monitor equipment installation methods for confirmation that installation meets specifications and drawings Coordinator RFI's and CCR's Potential travel to other site locations - Huntsville, San Antonio, Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario Requirements Level of experience 10-15 years 10+ years of experience in industrial construction projects, with emphasis on building construction (greenfield or brownfield) Strong technical knowledge of construction means and methods Knowledge of general building construction methods. Proficient drawing review and field application abilities OSHA 30 and 510 certification Ability to properly manage a construction schedule daily, weekly, and monthly. Ability to stand, stoop, and walk for many hours of the day throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant. Ability to ascend & descend stairs to roof or equipment rooms throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant. Competent with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook Strong organization and communication skills. Associate degree in construction management - preferred Software experience - AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project - preferred Automotive building experience, including underground utilities, earthwork, civil, structural steel, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and building hangover/completion - preferred Physical Demands of the job may include Moving about long distances Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period Working in extreme weather Being exposed to loud noises Wearing personal protective gear correctly Join an elite group of Safety Professionals!
