Palo Alto Security EngineerAtlanta, GA (hybrid but primarily remote - mtg approx. once quarter)3 year contract - perm potential$53-65hr W2 onlyPurpose: This position supports the client's Specialized Cyber Security information security program to ensure the company's information assets are adequately protected. The successful applicant will collaborate with business units to define and implement business security requirements and goals, and to identify and resolve business security issues. The position also supports information security compliance programs in response to regulations such as NERC, FERC, TSA as well as other state, local, and federal security requirements. Education Experience: Possess an in-depth knowledge of information security methodologies, tools, technologies, and best practices and how they relate to the organizationAbility to troubleshoot and resolve problems in a systematic and logical manner, and maintain good communications with all relevant parties throughout troubleshooting processStrong experience in Firewall Technologies, including hands-on experience in providing firewall support, installation, and analysis of infrastructure communication.3+ years' recent experience in positions directly related to cyber security assessment, information security, information technology, andor consulting expertiseHands on experience with the following firewall and switch solutions:Palo Alto (Primary responsibility)Cisco FMCFirePower, (experience a plus)Cisco Switches (DNA) (experience a plus)Firewall technologies (site-to-site VPN, NAT, Threat prevention & URL filtering) Job Responsibilities:Engineering, installation, configuring, and support network and firewall infrastructureDevelop and maintain requirements for firewall rule implementation including source and destination IPs, Ports, Transport ProtocolWorks with an experienced team of network engineers in performing vulnerability and fault analysis on enterprise level devices, and developing and implementing system remediation and recovery plansIdentifying root cause of issues and making appropriate recommendation to avoid future failureExperience creating network diagrams utilizing Microsoft VisioExperience with development and maintenance of high-level and low-level design documentationSupports Operational Technology (OT) and the enterprise in all aspects of information security administration; trusted to handle confidential situations and data; conducts investigations and analysis as directedEngages with TO and business partners to evaluate and implement security process for critical infrastructure and key resourcesProvides governance and oversight to business partner security activities to ensure compliance with all corporate information security policies and proceduresEstablishes and executes program updates as necessary to adapt to the changing threat landscape as well as local, state, and federal security requirementsPerform security testing and audits to identity vulnerabilities and resolve weaknessesResearch security enhancements and make recommendations to managementAdditional Information:Must have a valid state driver's licenseMust be able to pass background requirements including NERC CIP and enhanced Insider Threat Program (ITP)Some travel required (less than 20% of time) normally not overnightAdditional duties as assignedThe compensation range for this position is $53 to $65hr W2 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).*Note: Disclosure as required by the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (CO), NYC Pay Transparency Law, and sb5761 (WA) Synergis is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
