Test Manager

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Test Manager to join a leading Company located in the Newark, NJ surrounding area.We are looking for a Test Manager who will be responsible for developing testing and test management requirements, procedures, standards and policies. These responsibilities include areas such as: scheduling and management of testing assignments, project testing status, defect tracking, and measurement reporting.Responsibilities: Understand the business functionality and define the overall test strategyCapability to understand the big picture - systemappproduct and weave in a comprehensive test planDevelop and maintain standard IT testing and test management processes and procedures; this also includes developing a set of test policies to define acceptable levels of testing based on a set of criteria that considers risk vs cost-benefitDevelop and maintain standard requirements management processes and procedures Develop and maintain staff training materials for the above test and requirements management processesConduct staff training for test and requirements management processesEffectively communicate at senior managerdirectorexecutive levels about the programproject level risksissuesescalationsProvide consulting to project teams for test and requirements managementDevelop requirements for standard test management reports and visualizations in the form of mockups, to be built and implemented by other IT staffDevelop requirements for standard requirements management reports and visualizations in the form of mockups, to be built and implemented by other IT staffBecome the 'go-to' escalation point person for any project-related test management activitiesCommunicate effectively the daily status - risksissuesdependencies, track progress and manage issue workflow to resolutionLogging and managing the defects in ServiceNowWork directly on projects in a test manager or similar technical lead role May be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staffBasic Hiring Criteria:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeMinimum 6 years of experience as a Test ManagerPrior experience managing large, complex testing efforts across multiple departmentsDesired Qualifications: ServiceNow Test Management experience a plusUtilities experience a plusThorough understanding of testingQA techniques, practices, and processesExperience with planning and leading QA efforts for a program or large complex projectsThorough knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle processExcellent communication skills (written & verbal) both internally to the project team and leadershipAbility to provide necessary support to the gathering and writing of accurate, complete test materialsStrong business analysis skills for capturing businessclinical scenarios and translating them into test cases and scriptsDetail-oriented with strong analytical skills and an ability to organize and communicate thoughts clearly
