The American Dream School is seeking a bilingual (SpanishEnglish) motivated, and engaging teacher who is committed to serving English Language Learners and cultivating bilingualism and biliteracy through their content area. This candidate will be able to create a curriculum based on NYS Next GenerationCommon Core standards for their subject area. We are currently seeking a Middle School Math Teacher for immediate hire.Responsibilities:INSTRUCTIONALImplement and support in the development of a rigorous cutting edge curriculum that develops scholars in their academic developmentDevelop and teach clear and engaging lessons that follow a rigorous, Next GenerationCommon Core-aligned curriculum mapHold students accountable for high behavioral expectations and implement American Dream's behavior management system with consistencyUtilize formal and informal assessment data to drive instruction and ensure student mastery of standards using Illuminate Education, our assessment platform.Implement a full time co-teaching model consistently to best support student learning needs.Promotes a sense of urgency in learningAssist in the distribution, collection, and grading of tests and homework assignmentsMaintain accurate records and create reportsBuild a warm and inclusive classroom environment, implementing the practices of Responsive ClassroomAccept ultimate responsibility for the academic progress of his or her students, and work to actively overcome setbacksSTUDENT SUPPORT SERVICESPrepare reports on student academic performance for staff andor administratorsTutor and assist students individually or in small groupsCreate annual goal(s) for students' IEPImplement and track the progress of annual goals of students' IEPs as it pertains to your content areaWrite progress reports (Present levels of Performance) for students as requestedParticipate in yearly IEP conferencesEstablish appropriate goals and implement modifications for each student, as neededOTHER PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESActively participate in grade-level meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development, including an annual Teacher AcademyParticipate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students' progress or problemsSupervise and manage students in all spaces and during transitions, upholding ADS core values, rules, and policiesInstruct, maintain, and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materialAssist with breakfastlunch duties, as neededActively participate in opportunities to strengthen herhis own pedagogical skills as well as contribute to the learning of colleaguesContribute to the school's smooth and efficient operation by fulfilling required administrative duties, responsibilities, and maintaining open and proactive communication with colleaguesCreate and maintain bulletin boards to showcase student workEngage in a minimum of two peer observations per month and provide written feedbackMinimum Qualifications: Candidate must be able to provide proof of being fully COVID-19 vaccinated.Bilingual SpanishEnglish preferred (required for Spanish teacher)Bachelor's degree in related field, Master's preferredNew York State Teaching Certification or Special Education is requiredStrong organizational, data tracking, and analysis skillsMaintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, complete assignments with consistent accuracyTech-savvy; familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google docsdriveJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftWork Location: One location
