Whether it's guiding a reading session for eager young minds or breathing life into a local park, you'll be the catalyst. With each event, you'll not only be showcasing the spirit of New York Cares but also amplifying our commitment to the community. Dive in, and together, let's craft experiences that resonate and inspire.Reporting directly to the Director of Signature Partnerships & Events, the Coordinator works collaboratively with a team of dedicated full-time and seasonal event production staff.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESManage volunteer events for up to 100 attendees, ensuring a seamless alignment with their original design and objectives.Lead and guide corporate volunteer projects on-site, providing direction and managing day-to-day tasks.Implement superior volunteer management practices, anticipating and addressing challenges as they arise.Identify key event elements and influencing factors through site visits and discussions with nonprofit partners.Serve as the central liaison for corporate volunteer projects, fostering trust and effective communication.Engage in detailed project overview calls, fostering collaboration between nonprofits, volunteer leaders, and corporate sponsors.Analyze and translate event requirements into actionable tasks, forwarding purchase orders and supply details to the Event Operations team for smooth execution.This list is not an exhaustive job description. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.QUALIFICATIONSDeep understanding and empathy for the social nuances, practices, and worldviews of people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and cultures.Ongoing dedication to understanding the social and racial justice challenges confronting the communities served by New York Cares.Demonstrated understanding of event logistics management, budgeting and vendor management best practices.Ability to apply strategic judgment, reassess and pivot in the face of unpredictable circumstances.Ability to foster genuine connections with a broad spectrum of stakeholders and understand their unique perspectives and needs.Demonstrated skill in breaking down overarching strategies into actionable tasks for clear and efficient execution.Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships with community and corporate partners, understand their event preferences, collect feedback, and customize event offerings to meet their needs.Evidenced ability to facilitate engaging discussions that encourage participation, collaboration, and PENSATIONThe salary for this role is $62,400Salary is just one component of New York Cares' total compensation package.
