As the SERE Manager for Schneider-Electric's Oxford manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, including state, federal, and Schneider-Electric regulations. You will provide EHS support to operations, including engineering, non-manufacturing, and manufacturing, and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to establish and maintain EHS programs that promote a strong safety culture. What will you do in this position? Ensure compliance with all EHS regulations and maintain a strong safety culture within the Oxford facility. Develop and implement effective EHS programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate compliance issues and improve overall EHS performance. Provide training and support to employees to ensure they understand and comply with EHS regulations and company policies. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards and non-compliances. Collaborate with the union workforce to address EHS concerns and promote a positive working relationship. Develop and maintain relationships with union representatives to ensure open communication and effective resolution of EHS issues. Work with the union to develop and implement joint EHS initiatives and programs, such as training and safety committees. Provide technical EHS support to management and the safety committee, and lead the site safety committee. Participate in the site's Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S activities and provide recommendations for improving EHS practices within the facility. Serve as a liaison between the EHS department and the union to ensure effective communication and collaboration on EHS issues. Ideal Business Experience: At least six years' experience in an EHS position, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in electrical safety, machine guarding, training, and ergonomics is highly desirable. Proven track record of successfully implementing EHS programs and improving compliance in a manufacturing. environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders. Experience working with unions and collective bargaining agreements is highly desirable. What qualifications will make you successful for this role? B.S. Degree in Environment, Health, and Safety Management or equivalent degree is required. Comprehensive knowledge of EHS guidelines and regulations, including OSHA and Ohio state regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively through all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop effective solutions. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives and employees. Ability to travel to other Schneider-Electric facilities and attend training sessions as required. Familiarity with Lean and 5S principles and ability to apply them in an EHS context. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
