MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR POSITION SUMMARY Okland is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating mechanical aspects of high technology construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring our projects are accurately estimated and financially viable. It supervises the architectural, engineering, bidding, contracting, building, inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in concrete self-preform on large commercial scale. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Perform quantity takeoffs accurately. Assist in pricing project logistics, including hoisting, personnel lifts, and temporary construction elements. Develop abstracts and evaluate basic trade bids. Solicit pricing for projects in a hard bid environment. Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software. Provide value engineering options and cost-saving solutions. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating within the construction industry. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, FastPIPE, or similar). Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Understanding of construction and renovation terms, materials, techniques, and procedures. Knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Familiarity with construction cost estimating techniques, including material quantity take-offs and labor rate analysis. Experience with value engineering and total life cycle costing. Proficient in PC-based project management software and other applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases). Ability to analyze bids, cost proposals, and cost estimates. Capability to read and interpret construction drawings and schedules. Strong ability to coordinate actions to meet deadlines while maintaining flexibility.
