The role of a Plumbing and Mechanical Planner is a critical part of the operations of the organization here at the University Park Campus; this position is accountable for the Maintenance Project work that supports the following building systems and supporting attributes: Potable Water, Fire Suppression, Sanitary systems, Safety Showers, and Roof Drain/ Storm responsibilities include:View all requests for project planning. Review and screen for redundancy, necessity, completeness, and accuracy.Consult with clients, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate project scope, determine priority level, prepare sketches, take measurements as needed, determine shut down requirements and impact to other equipment, and check for safety hazards.Review and analyze design documents to develop time, cost, materials, and labor detailed work orders including prints, sketches, and and plan multi-discipline work orders and projects for the following trades: heat and ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, sheet metal, water treatment, insulators, and and inspect the work in progress to assure that work is being performed as planned, and in compliance with safety codes and safety coordination of projects from inception to close out and update project progress activities in project data management systems.Encourage and seek process improvement initiatives; create efficiencies when possible.OPP is part of Penn State's Finance and Business organization.
