The Heavy Equipment Mechanic position performs major repairs, routine inspections & maintenance, as well as annual inspections on our growing fleet of heavy equipment, pick-up trucks, trailers, and semi-trucks. The mechanic is also responsible for preparing/maintaining inspection and maintenance records on each piece of equipment.Brewster is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer with advancement opportunities and a great work environment.Benefits:Company Paid Medical Insurance for full-time employees.Dental/Vision/Life Insurance available after one month.401(k) with competitive company Paid Holidays available upon hire.Paid Vacation accruals upon hire.Strong Family Culture - Family-Owned Business.Growth Opportunities - Promotions from within.Job Duties:Diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, class 8, and small truck fleet as needed.Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance, as well as annual inspections on all equipment, trucks, and trailers.Ordering parts/supplies from vendors as needed.Properly maintain/prepare inspection and maintenance records on all pieces of equipment.Requires fieldwork repairs to be done as needed, most construction sites are within a 30 mile radius of our office maintain a clean and safe functioning shop.Job Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical problems on earth moving equipment, semi & pick-up trucks, concrete saws, forklifts, air compressors, and strong trouble shooting skills.Have ability to diagnose and repair problems using service manuals.Have experience using hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.Be able to read and interpret basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic training & Welding experience a plusCAT experience a plus
