About the role: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team supporting our logistics and services products. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the company's financial activities across our logistics and services products, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting through reviewing end to end process flows, and maintaining compliance. The Controller will contribute to the overall success of the finance department by assisting in the preparation of financial statements, implementing, and improving internal controls, and collaborating on projects with cross-functional teams. Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement. Oversee general ledger activities, including review of journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and month-end close procedures. Signoff and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Support with consolidated reporting and monthly financial reviews. Internal Controls Collaborate with the Controllers within the US to establish and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information across multiple systems. Ensure monthly review and timely execution of internal controls. Work to close open audit findings and solve root cause of ineffective controls. Monitor compliance with internal control policies and recommend improvements as needed. Support internal and external audit processes and liaise with auditors throughout the year. End to End Financial Process and System Design Process standardization and automation for cost and revenue accruals Support acquisition integration by standardizing and fixing end-to-end processes across entities (including intercompany and reduction of entities) Support in the reduction of multiple systems of record in the US and implementation of new systems Lead the end-to-end customer implementation from a financial perspective touching multiple departments across Maersk. While ensuring revenue and costs are accurately reported. Assist with various strategic initiatives, ad-hoc tasks, projects, and analyses as directed What you bring: Hard Skills: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation is preferred. Proven experience (10+ years) in accounting or financial management roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in SAP required; Experience with CargoWise, Netsuite and/or Workday a plus Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Soft Skills: Bias for action - Proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated curiosity and ability to ask insightful questions. Tenacity and resilience in the face of challenges. Pragmatic mindset with a focus on achieving tangible business outcomes. Job Type: Full Time Salary: $190,000-270,000 USD* Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match. *The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position.
