THIS POSITION IS FOR 2nd SHIFT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Test and inspect raw materials to ensure company specifications are met Perform testing following test methods on finished good samples: wet QC testing and final dirt checks Provide in process support to QC Correction Specialists in relation to investigation and correction of abnormal batches. Identify off quality product during the QC process and work through the abnormal process to correct Coordinate the containment of suspect product Verify QC packages meet customer requirements and release to shipping Manage and maintain the retain storage area Dispose/recycle retain samples per work instructions Manage dirt check standard selection/approval process, as necessary Utilize and implement simple troubleshooting techniques to ensure test equipment is operating as intended. Proficiently use the Quality modules in SAP Track, analyze, and report data utilizing statistical methods Recommend improvement areas to the Quality Control Manager based on analysis of data. This includes but not limited to, formula and specification changes, test methods and procedures, production and process concerns. Manage the requisitioning and maintaining of lab supplies Participate in the QC laboratory 5S efforts; ensuring items are arranged to promote efficient workflow and good housekeeping is maintained to promote a safe work environment Ability to adjust batches to meet desired specification targets, including use of necessary equipment. Participate in cross functional teams to address and resolve quality problems and to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods Perform GR&R studies on equipment affecting product quality Maintains testing equipment, including calibrations and preventative maintenance SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION Associates' Degree Preferably in Chemistry or 2 years of equivalent experience Experience in ISO Quality systems Desirable: Exposure to Lean Manufacturing OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong color matching skills, ability to make critical color decisions for key customers. Strong attention to detail. Ability to identify and define problems, collects and analyzes data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure appropriate flow of information. Ability to interact effectively with team members, co-workers, and managers. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion Displays courtesy, tact and respect when dealing with others. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to meet strict deadlines using time management Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Manufacturing industry experience preferred Highly developed computer skills in Excel, Word, Access database Ability to work off shift hours in order to meet the needs of the business. Ability to lift 50 lbs. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and the ability to focus WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines. The noise-level in this environment is quiet to moderate. Duties are performed indoors. Out-of-town travel required as necessary for training and or to carry out duties and responsibilities.
