Job Title: Quality Inspector Location: Chantilly, VA (On-site presence required 5 days a week) Start Date: Immediate (Monday) Shift Schedule Options: 7:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm Per diem available for non-local candidates We are working with a client who is a leading provider of advanced hardware and software solutions for the aerospace, defense, and critical infrastructure markets. We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or inspection fields of electronic components and/or assemblies. Job Description: The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections on product in Receiving, Manufacturing, or Integration and Test and perform product build documentation review and end-item data package review. You will also be responsible for performing detailed inspections on both Electrical and Mechanical components at the piece part level as well as the assembly and sub-assembly level. The candidate must be willing to work off-shift activities with occasional overtime, weekend, and Holiday support as required. The candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance. Essential Functions : • Perform receiving, in-process and final inspections on product in Receiving, Manufacturing, or Integration and Test and perform product build documentation review and end-item data package review. • Perform detailed inspections on both Electrical and Mechanical components at the piece part level as well as the assembly and sub-assembly level. • Uphold quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and employing quality workmanship standards during everyday job functions. • Assist in developing training material for the QA group. • Generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes. • Perform audits of work areas to ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures and Lean Manufacturing Principles. • Perform in-depth reviews of product build documentation for configuration audit to determine if as-built meets as-designed requirements. • Act as safety representative during critical and hazardous operations. Qualifications: • Experience with quality inspection, auditing, testing, and documentation. • Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions. • Experience with IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies, Space Addendum, IPC-610, IPC-620 and ESD. • Ability to use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, DMM, etc.) • Able to use Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications easily. • Willingness to work off shift activities with occasional overtime, weekend, and Holiday support as required. • Willingness to support 2nd shift • Experience with development and maintenance of policy and procedure documentation. • The ability to obtain a government security clearance. • Solid interpersonal working skills in a team development environment with the ability to work independently as well. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and TIPQA preferred. • Above average technical writing skills is mandatory. Education/Certification: • High school diploma/equivalent • U.S. citizen Years of Experience: • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or inspection fields of electronic components and/or assemblies
