Job description Medical Coder - Dermatology (Concord, MA) Overview/Responsibilities : Running through workques with Athena Work through 150 to 200 codes per day Reviewing medical records, performing analysis on documentation, determining the appropriate ICD and/or CPT codes and modifiers. Verifying documentation is present to substantiate codes assigned. Ensuring all coding is completed in a timely manner to meet billing and reimbursement deadlines. Communicating effectively with healthcare providers to clarify coding questions and concerns. Assisting in resolving incomplete and/or missing documentation in order to expedite coding and billing. Keeping current with all coding updates and information related to correct coding. Conducting regular audits to monitor coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement. Continuously improve coding processes and contribute to the overall success of the team. Ensure E&M codes are correct Must Have Skills/Qualifications: Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding systems as well as CCI edits Knowledge of third-party payer requirements, federal and state guidelines and regulations on medical coding and billing Experience with E&M coding (Evaluation & Management) Schedule/Shift: M-F 7am-4pm OR 9am-5pm (flexible for hybrid, 1-2 days onsite, training fully onsite) Pay Rate: $28-$30 an hour Benefits: Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances) Health Benefits / Dental / Vision ( Medix Offers 6 different health plans: 3 Major Medical Plans, 2 Fixed Indemnity Plans (Standard and Preferred), and 1 Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan.
