Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate, CRE underwriter will be responsible for underwriting and closing of all Commercial real estate loans originated by Bayview Asset Management ("BAM"). Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Obtain and perform in-depth due diligence including but not limited to reviews of rent rolls, financial statements, tax returns, third party reports (appraisals, engineering and environmental), insurance policies/documents, property related contracts, leases, flood determinations, zoning, bank account analysis, aged receivables, personal financial statements & other pertain information to assess potential risks and the property's ability to generate sufficient operating income to pay debt service; Complete thorough cash flow analysis and ratio analysis as well as commercial loan structuring and documentation for accuracy, completeness and adherence to approved underwriting and closing conditions; Prepare written documentation (Investment Committee Memo, ASR) of loan terms, conditions and narratives explaining the loan request, Sponsor's business background, loan risks and mitigating factors and ensuring conformity to BAM's credit policies and procedures; Work closely with various BAM departments including Real Estate Valuation and CRE asset management teams ensuring compliance with BAM's credit policies and procedures; Perform site inspections; Participate in coordinating responds to B-piece buyer's, rating agencies' and other investors' inquiries; Exercise exemplary corporate citizenship including strict adherence to compliance requirements and Bayview's tenets; Other duties as needed or required SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: Ability to work in a highly paced and dynamic environment required Expert use of Excel. Excellent spelling and grammar Preferred knowledge of Argus, Co-star, Reis and other market data sources Ability to work in a highly paced and dynamic environment preferred EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business, science, technology, engineering or math field is preferred Finance, business, or project coordination experience is required 3-5 years CRE underwriting experience at a prior rating agency, insurance company or financial institution preferred Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration No certification, license, and/or registration is required Location & Compensation: This role will be based in Bayview's NYC office. Base compensation is expected to be $100-140k with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus compensation.
