Senior Estimator (remote allowed) at Brown and Caldwell in BOISE, Idaho, United States Job Description Description Brown and Caldwell (BC), a national environmental engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a senior estimating professional that is well-organized, outgoing and ready to grow their career in estimation. The candidate will represent the company as a professional Estimator that will interface with internal and external clients. This position requires well developed experience inclusive of all disciplines including but not limited to architectural, civil, mechanical, and structural, plumbing, and HVAC with an emphasis in Water/Wastewater infrastructure projects.Remote location allowed with a preference to the Boise area but other locations are allowed. This position will support an innovative water recycling project in Boise as well as other projects around the country.Roles and ResponsibilitiesEstimate man hours and materials needed to complete Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) and to competitively bid both traditional and design-build projects.Provide constructability and value engineering reviews of design documents during all phases of the project.Develop and lead project estimates, with integrated support of other estimating resources.Develop and maintain client relationships throughout the project.Serve as a technical expert in estimating. Provide estimating leadership on project teams.Establish and effectively leverage cross-discipline relationships within project teams to facilitate estimating functions.Assist in the development and execution of the strategy and plan for estimating activities that consider and support the overall delivery strategy or project requirements.Develop estimates in the accuracy and level of detail required for the intended purpose of the a comprehensive and thoroughly documented basis of conceptual and definitive estimates following standard procedures and estimate classes. Validate that the project scope, material take-offs, and client requirements are covered in the and advise lead staff of cost impacts of proposed design or construction changes.Be familiar with the risk register and relationship to contingencies.Apply practical field experience and constructability expertise to the development of conceptual estimates when minimal design drawings and information are available.Required QualificationsMinimum of Associates degree or technical school + years minimum estimating experience that should include disciplines such as Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVACHVAC, and/or Structural estimating, with an emphasis on Water/ of water and wastewater plant and process engineering practice.Able to read and interpret CAD drawings and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).Proven ability to work independently under remote supervision with project managers, project design teams and other estimators located in multiple regions of the country.Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel).Willingness to coordinate the objectives of all stakeholders towards a positive outcome.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment.Preferred QualificationsBS degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.Previous experience in construction management, field engineering, project management or field supervisory roles. Including managing contractors, driving schedule, sequencing tasks, and understanding construction projects start to finish.Strong understanding of construction sequencing and developing work break down structures (WBS).Understanding of or experience with performing hard-bid estimates as general contractor.Understanding of or experience with performing Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) with estimating construction projects with alternative delivery methods; Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).Experience using Recent Sage Construction and Real Estate 300 estimating software (formerly Timberline Estimating Software), Bluebeam, and working with BIM models.Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software and ability to develop proposal and planning phase construction schedules.Understanding of different project delivery methods and estimating based on delivery methodAbility to perform constructability reviews.Demonstrated exposure to all aspects of project deliverables.Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or...
