Remote with up to 75% travel Your Job Georgia-Pacific is seeking a qualified professional for a Senior Engineer role within the corporate outage management group, which supports pulp and paper manufacturing facilities across the U.S. Our Team The senior engineer of the Outage Management group will collaborate with and support facility teams in successfully preparing and executing annual (extended) asset outage events. The vision is to discover methods, tools, and knowledge to close capability gaps and help manufacturing teams improve performance in the short term while building sustainable outage management capability for the longer term. Successful outage management is a key contributor to the successful performance of facilities and their businesses. What Will You Do In This Role Collaborate, guide, and coach cross-functional site outage teams to build capabilities and improve outage execution. Be proactive and deliberate in the application of Principle Based Management. Develop leaders and contributors in the facilities with a focus on talent development. Mentor and coach. Develop a relationship with mills to gain the ability to influence and challenge. Have a heightened sense of urgency and commitment to continually transform our performance. Develop and mentor Principled Entrepreneurs. Move from a tactical mindset to a strategic mindset. Promote the use of the Decision-Making Framework process to realize long-term value creation. Proactively share knowledge and collaborate with capabilities at the corporate, business unit, and site levels to ensure that the best knowledge is included in decision-making. Partner with Outage Outcome Leaders and mill stakeholders in developing site improvement plans to advance mill performance Promote and support the GP Outage QA/QC Standard. Strive for continuous improvement in applying the QA/QC work process in mill operations. Improve work identification and work prioritization and assist in developing scopes of work for annual outages. Lead development of Annual Outage Model Work Orders at each facility. Lead development and maturity of the Event-free Start-up (EFSU) Work Process. (Shutting down, start-up, sustainable operations) Build immediate and future capability to conduct Interactive planning sessions (IPSs) for critical equipment and work associated with outage management. Participate in Outage Readiness Gate Reviews at mills to help determine the state's preparedness, share knowledge during the review, and work with the mill team to close any gaps. Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals to improve the results of an operation. Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance results. Demonstrated capabilities in improving manufacturing and reliability/maintenance results. Systematic approach to identifying, prioritizing, and closing gaps in work processes and team capabilities. Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation, including Potential Problem Analysis (PPA). Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and planning/scheduling/execution skills. Project Management skills. Experience working within the Pulp & Paper industry in operational and maintenance roles. Experience in outage management, work processes, construction, and project management. Experience with data analysis, metrics reporting, Pareto analysis, and trending. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Construction Management Experience with implementing reliability tools, precision maintenance practices, and maintenance work processes across multiple operational teams. Willing and able to travel 75% of the time (average). What Will Put You Ahead 8 or more years of continuous manufacturing experience in maintenance, reliability, project management, and operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a heavy industrial environment (preferably fully integrated pulp and paper mills) For this role, we anticipate paying $140K - $170K.
