Collaborate with the Safety Director to assemble new project safety packages, deliver safety training, assist with job site safety inspections, procure, and maintain inventory of safety equipment within the PPE Management Program, and ensure all safety documentation is current including the safety training database. Collaborate and assist with incident investigations, assist with WC claim submission, and assist employees in utilizing a return-to-work program. Assist Safety Director / Manager in post incident reviews. Assist Safety Director / Safety Manager with leading monthly safety training. Maintain biweekly Safety Messages for Message Board. Create and maintain new project folders and create site specific EAP. Complete assigned task as assigned in timely manner. Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks. Handling risk assessments to gather information on safety issues. Maintain consistent communication with the Safety Director to establish priorities and ensure that the strategic safety goals of the companies are achieved. Demonstrate a strong safety focus; belief that the safety and health of all employees is not just about compliance, but about ensuring that everyone makes it home safely every day. Communicate the message of the Company Safety for Life Mission, Vision and Values to coworkers and trade partners. Job Requirements: Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of commercial construction or general industry safety experience. OSHA 30 training completion. Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred. Proven understanding of safety principles, regulations, and best practices. Has knowledge to identify general safety hazards and ensure that all team members are aligned with our Safety for Life culture. Experience in performing safety training with groups of people using verbal communication, technology, and visual aids. Knowledgeable in best practices for workplace injury management. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, including Access. Experience with Procore a plus. Ability to achieve proficiency with recent technology solutions. Ability to retain flexibility, while still providing reliability and consistency. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the highest level of integrity. Demonstrate respectful and effective written and oral communication skills. Able to ask thoughtful questions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving. Ability to build productive and enduring relationships through open collaboration within the project planning group, with field operations teams, design team and clients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan and prioritize objectives to achieve high-quality, successful results. Demonstrate a learning orientation. Willing to pursue related educational and training opportunities with intellectual curiosity for job performance improvement on an on-going basis. Able to use personal vehicle for business travel within 80-mile radius (mileage reimbursement provided); Excellent driving record; Virginia Driver's License Ability to meet physical demands: Climb ladders and 5 floors of stairs Bend, kneel, crawl and maneuver in and around all kinds of equipment Move around jobsites during all phases of construction Lift a minimum of 75 pounds to waist height Excellent hand-eye coordination, able to grasp and assemble objects Excellent vision corrected or corrected, including ability to distinguish basic color groups; excellent hearing Willing to complete the pre-employment process: authorize background check and Virginia DMV MVR report; take a drug test.
