Position Summary PCSB Bank is committed to our customers, colleagues and communities that we serve. PCSB Universal Bankers are required to demonstrate excellence in customer service and maintain a working knowledge of the Bank's products and services. The Universal Banker will serve as the initial face of the bank when entering the branch, provide excellent customer service and act in the capacity of a financial service professional by engaging in needs-based relationship building conversations. This includes an ethical approach to uncovering customer needs and recommending appropriate products, services, and solutions to meet the customers long and short-term financial goals. The Universal Banker will be responsible for helping customers, opening accounts, handling cash/teller transactions, selling/cross selling banks products and services as well as resolving simple and complex customer service issues. Ability to profile customer and create customer needs assessment. This position includes evening and weekend hours. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Actively engage in meaningful conversation with customers in order to seek a thorough understanding of their complete financial needs. Recommend products and services to support the customer's needs, through in person interactions, referrals to other lines of business, and referral outreach. Provide customers with counsel and advice within the scope of authority. Open checking, savings, money market, retirement products, and certificate of deposit accounts. Process outgoing wire transfers. May distribute loan applications and may discuss loan products within lending authority. Assists teller line with customers' transactions during peak periods. Helps to keep staff informed of pertinent changes in operational policy and procedures. Ensures excellent customer service skills are practiced. Assist Branch Management as necessary in balancing and maintaining ATMs and vault, training new employees, opening/closing procedures, etc. Balances and trouble shoot ATM/Debit Card concerns. Ensures dual control procedures are always followed. Develops strong partnerships with PCSB internal partners (mortgage officers, commercial lenders and Business Development) and external partners (payroll, merchant services, credit cards etc.) focusing on client acquisition and deepening current relationships. Educated on and able to articulate with detail all deposit, business, consumer loan and mortgage products. Processes customer transactions and maintains accurate records of all interactions and transactions. Works to meet existing branch performance standards in areas such as operating loss control, tellers' training, bank secrecy, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Actively supports PCSB Banks community related initiatives in an effort to continue building the brand in the communities that we serve. Responsible for ensuring all transactions are processed in accordance with internal policy and procedures. POSITION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to profile customer and create customer needs assessment Minimum of three years of Branch experience with demonstrated supervisory ability Proficient with various computer software programs Ability to use office equipment, including faxes, copiers, computers and cellular phone Strong organizational skills Decision making ability Strong verbal communication skills Strong supervisory and coaching skills Desire to work with the public focusing on meeting customer needs/including proactive sales and services Strong motivational and training skills Professional appearance Working knowledge of all bank products and services Exhibit tact and diplomacy working with a diverse staff and customer base Ability to maintain composure under pressure Ability to work nights and weekends Bilingual Spanish a plus Environment and physical activity The incumbent is in a front-line bank setting in which the successful candidate may be standing for prolonged periods of time in a non-confined work area and is able to move about at will. The incumbent spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, and reaching and must be able to lift to 15 pounds. The incumbent may operate any or all the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine (calculator), scanner, computer, printers and other equipment as directed.
