City/State Charlottesville, VA Overview Work Shift Rotating (United States of America) Sign On Bonus of up to $20,000 and Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. The Medical-Surgical Units at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital provide comprehensive care to diverse patient populations, including those with complex conditions such as post-operative Abdominal, Reconstructive, Wound Care, Orthopedic, Oncology, Cardiac, and Neurosurgical needs. With a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6 and primarily 12-hour schedule, our units are designed to ensure that patients receive personalized attention and care. Our team includes experienced nurses who work closely with Patient Care Technicians to provide support and assistance. Patient Care Technicians cover 8-12 patients each and assist with vital sign checks, medication administration, and other essential tasks. In addition, our support team includes Unit Coordinators, Preceptors, Charge nurses, and Team Coordinators to ensure a seamless patient experience. Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital offers a strong orientation program led by an experienced Education Coordinator with 20 years of experience. This comprehensive program helps new and experienced nurses develop their skills and transition smoothly into their new roles with Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. By providing ongoing training and support, we are committed to fostering the professional growth of our nurses while delivering personalized care that is tailored to the unique needs of each patient. Requirements: Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program BSN or MSN preferred. Registered Nurse License Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program. Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License BLS Required within 90 days of hire. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. BSN or MSN preferred.
