Description Markon is looking for an experienced Project Engineer - Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) / Building Information Modeling (BIM) with expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a DoD client. The Project Engineer - COBie/BIM will work to support a DOD client looking to manage the construction of a new Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Currency Production Facility (CPF) to provide a modern, secure, and innovative facility for the manufacturing of United States currency for the BEP. The Facility will occupy a 104-acre site in Beltsville, Maryland. As the COBie/BIM Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful implementation and management of COBie and BIM processes throughout the project lifecycle, from design and construction through handover. This is a critical leadership position that will involve overseeing the digital delivery of asset data, ensuring compliance with USACE BIM standards, and facilitating collaboration between project stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and facilities management teams Responsibilities Serve as the primary COBie/BIM Specialist for the project, ensuring compliance with USACE BIM standards and requirements. Manage and coordinate BIM models and COBie data from design through construction to handover, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and completeness. Ensure all relevant project stakeholders (designers, contractors, and facilities managers) are adhering to BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and providing timely updates to models and COBie data. Oversee the validation, organization, and submission of COBie-compliant asset data, including equipment lists, warranties, maintenance schedules, and other critical building component data. Work closely with the construction management team to ensure that all digital asset information is updated during construction, including any changes to materials, products, or equipment. Facilitate coordination between contractors and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery and integration of COBie data. Support the handover process, ensuring that all COBie data is integrated into the owner's facility management systems for efficient long-term operations and maintenance. Provide ongoing training and support to the project team and the owner's facility management team to ensure effective use of the BIM models and COBie data. Identify and resolve any data discrepancies, ensuring that all project asset information is delivered in accordance with contract requirements and USACE guidelines. Provide draft agenda, meeting minutes, recommendations, and input to the Resident Engineer/COR regarding the daily, weekly, and monthly meetings required amongst the Government and the Contractor. In coordination with the Resident Engineer/COR, provide recommendations for providing predictable, clear, efficient, and effective communication paths for these meetings. Prepare weekly status reports with appropriate level of detailed back up and present the reports at regularly scheduled review meeting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM/COBie management on large construction projects, with a preference for USACE or federal project experience. Strong understanding of USACE BIM standards, guidelines, and requirements, particularly in relation to COBie. Proficiency in BIM software platforms (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Bentley), and experience managing COBie data formats (e.g., Excel, XML). Demonstrated experience in managing complex construction projects with multiple stakeholders and data requirements. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and communication. Experience with facility management systems (CMMS, CAFM) and integration of BIM/COBie data for lifecycle management is a plus. Experience with USACE Resident Management System (RMS) Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Per contractual requirements, all candidates must be US Citizens eligible for a security clearance Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) construction projects. USACE Baltimore District project experience is highly preferred. Professional certifications such as CM-BIM (AGC), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or similar. LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable building practices is a plus. Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM) certification Salary Range USD $100,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr. The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
