Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer Location: 100% Remote (Based in the Chicago Area) An established MEP design firm in the Chicago area is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis. Qualifications: Education : You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. Certification : FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification is required. Experience : You have 3+ years of experience in electrical design, including expertise in electrical standards and designing systems for lighting, power, and fire alarms. Technical Knowledge : You understand electrical circuiting for power and lighting, as well as related considerations for telecommunications, mechanical, and architectural systems. Familiarity with industry standards and loss prevention practices is essential. Collaboration : You're skilled at working independently and collaborating effectively with team members across all levels. Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills are key to your success. Software Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit is required. Familiarity with electrical-specific calculation software is a plus. Responsibilities: Electrical Design : You will prepare electrical load, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations. You will also create electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm drawings, punchlists, and complete electrical schedules while sizing feeders, branch circuits, and panels. Standards Compliance : Ensure that all designs adhere to client and industry standards, guidelines, and specifications. Field Work : Conduct surveys and field observations of electrical systems and equipment. Client & Vendor Collaboration : Regularly communicate and coordinate project activities with internal team members and clients. You'll also work directly with vendors to evaluate and select equipment, with guidance from your supervisor.
