Job Title: Lead Testing & Commissioning TechnicianLocation: Lancaster, PA, United StatesJob Type: ContractAre you an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in testing and commissioning utility substation systems? We seek a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team and contribute to successfully commissioning critical infrastructure projects. This role offers an opportunity to work on various utility substation protection, control, and power circuits, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.Key Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, perform, and document all commissioning activities (from pre-commissioning through project close-out) for utility substation protection, control, and power circuits, ensuring compliance with company and client requirements.Review wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documents to ensure accuracy and prevent issues during project execution.Troubleshoot and analyze problems related to protection and control systems, including application errors, drawing or wiring omissions, equipment malfunctions, and test result discrepancies.Participate in key project meetings, including kickoff, planning, progress, and lessons learned meetings, providing valuable input for project success.Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and project completion reports outlining progress, issues, recommendations, and test results.Assist in developing project-specific testing, commissioning, and energization plans, documenting every step of the process.Identify risks associated with utility systems and equipment, developing a Site Risk Assessment to ensure safety and mitigate potential hazards.Ensure all necessary tests and commissioning activities are completed on all equipment in line with project requirements, documenting results appropriately.Develop and review detailed test reports for various types of electrical equipment, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience in testing and commissioning services, preferably in Electric Utilities (experience in commissioning complex commercialindustrial equipment will also be considered).Proven ability to read and understand construction, manufacturer's drawings, and schematics.Strong knowledge (or the ability to quickly learn) of electrical protection systems, relay communication, ACDC schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-linethree-line interconnection diagrams.Previous experience in mediumhigh voltage substation and power plant equipment testing, with the ability to interpret test results under supervision.Knowledge of substation utility protection and control circuits and the ability to perform commissioning activities with supervision.Hands-on experience with Doble Protection Suite, ProTest, SEL AcSELerator, and Enoserv RTS is highly preferred.US work eligibility and a valid USA driver's license in good standing are required.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.Physical Requirements:This role may require lifting, standing, and other physical activities associated with commissioning activities.
