Credentialing SpecialistContract length: 4 monthspay rate: $35hJob Summary:Responsible for coordinating and preparing medical staff functions, including the credentialing and privileging process, committee meetings, and compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA). Tasks involve maintaining confidentiality, managing expirables, assisting in compliance efforts, and facilitating communication between medical staff services, Credentials Committee, MEC Committee, medical staff leadership, and the Chief Medical Officer. Additionally, oversees the FPPE and integrates OPPE during reappointments.Job Responsibilities:Coordinate the credentialing activities of Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff per The Christ Hospital (TCH) policies, bylaws, and federalstate laws.Provide administrative support to Credentials, General Staff, and other Medical Staff committees.Process and monitor requests for temporary, additional, and one-time privileges.Verify professional liability coverage, medical licensure, board certifications, and DEA certifications.Obtain updated PPD and annual AHP evaluations.Assist in coordination of annual dues processes and yearly on-call schedule preparation.Manage credentialing database and assist in Joint Commission accreditation preparation.Prepare and distribute new committee rosters and yearly master calendars.Facilitate verifications of medical staff membership and clinical privileges for other healthcare facilities.Assist in coordination of medical staff events and functions.Support customers in the absence of Credentialing and Administrative Assistants.Skills:Required Skills & Experience:Minimum of 5 years in healthcare, performing credentialing, privileging, and medical staff services.Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, and make credentialing decisions.Self-starter with leadership skills and commitment to quality improvement programs.Proficiency with database management, Microsoft Office, and Windows applications.Experience with Joint Commission and other healthcare regulatory bodies.Physical Requirements:Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred Education:Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.Certifications & Licensure:Preferred:CPCS or CPMSM (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist or Certified Professional Medical Services Management).
