Airworthiness Engineer Location: Appleton, WISalary: $120.09 USDhour - based on experience Contract Duration: 1 Year +Unique Skills:• Thorough understanding of 14 CFR part 25 regulatory compliance requirements under 14 CFR part 21 certification procedures• Experience with EASA processes and CS 25 regulatory requirements is preferred. (experience with other foreign authorities is also acceptable)• Proficient at determination and application of certification methods of compliance to the airworthiness standards• Experience working and managing engineering type design change projects, newamended STC projects, major repairs and alterations is required• Experience developing and reviewing certification plans with minimal oversight and providing guidance for appropriate methods of compliance• Experience in understanding FAA requirements conveyed via Issue Papers for Special Conditions, Equivalent Levels of Safety findings, and Unsafe Features or Characteristics, and ability to aid in developing applicant positions in their response• Ability to review and understand engineering design data and associated substantiation data to ensure compliance is appropriately shown• Collaborative teamwork skills and ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external project stakeholders• Ability to provide mentorship to more junior coworkers on determination of compliance requirements for moderately complex major design change projects for all the skill discussed above• Understanding of Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) principles• Previous experience working with a delegated organization (ODA, DAS, DOA) is preferred but not required.• Understanding of conformity process is desired• Strong communication and written composition skills essential for authoring technical documents (ICA, GroundFlight Test Plans, Certification Plans, Summary Compliance Reports, Correspondence, Project Statements, etc.)• First ShiftExperienceEducation:Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.Position Purpose:Guides successful completion of major engineering programs, or conceives research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and servicesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues2. Is consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field3. Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities4. Approach to problem solving balances technical product, cost and schedule5. Works without appreciable direction; work is reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results6. Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, and makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative7. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty andor other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company productOther Requirements: 1. Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred 2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline
